The LEGO Group has, in recent years, broken away from its policy of building LEGO sets around its own themes to building LEGO sets from already licensed themes. The first example of this was the release of LEGO themes built around the Star Wars films. A more recent example is the release of a Batman theme in 2006. The strategy of using an already licensed theme gives the LEGO Group to expand it’s market into an already existing fanbase. It is also a good idea for the licensed theme as many LEGO fans can potentially become a fan of the already existing theme. It’s a win win!  Read more...
